Exploring Interconnections
Links among Multiple Forms of Violence
- Connecting the Dots, a summary of the research evidence to date on the links among eight forms of violence, developed in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This publication explores how people, families and communities often experience multiple forms of violence at the same time or in succession, identifies the risk and protective factors shared in common, and emphasizes the importance of coordination among violence prevention practitioners and advocates.
- A Good Solution Solves Multiple Problems (link to j-lib), on prevention strategies that address child abuse, intimate partner violence and community violence. This publication includes recommends for practitioners to integrate their efforts and address several forms of violence at once. This project was supported by Futures Without Violence as part of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Defending Childhood initiative.
