Breastfeeding undeniably has tremendous health benefits for both babies and mothers. Effective breastfeeding messages, however, must go beyond health to highlight the social and cultural context in which mothers do (or do not) breastfeed. This framing brief shows advocates the key ingredients they need to produce effective breastfeeding messages that promote policies in support of this very basic but vital act.
