THRIVE (Tool for Health and Resilience in Vulnerable Environments) was created to answer the question, what can communities do to improve health and safety and promote health equity? THRIVE is: A framework for understanding how structural driversi play out at the community level to impact community determinants,ii and consequently, health and safety outcomes, and inequities in outcomes; and, A tool for engaging community members and practitioners in assessing the status of community determinants, prioritizing them, and taking action to change them to improve health, safety, and health equity.

About Making Connections Making Connections is a planning initiative aimed at developing an action plan for promoting and improving the mental health and well-being, including socio-emotional well-being, of young men of color in the southeast of Albuquerque. Through Making Connections, youth are currently engaged in collecting and analyzing data and developing an action plan. Our goal is to understand what young people are thinking about the strengths, needs, challenges, resources, and priorities in their community. Your answers to this survey are anonymous and confidential. This means you do not put your name on this survey and only summaries of the information gathered from all the surveys completed will be used for planning and seeking funding. This summary information may be shared in presentations locally and nationally to help others learn from this effort.
House Republicans unveiled their plan to replace the Affordable Care Act this week, a proposal that threatens to undo or undermine the major achievements of health reform since 2010. The American Health Care Act (AHCA) would claw back investments in public health and prevention; phase out the Medicaid expansion; repeal the need-based subsidies that have enabled millions to purchase insurance plans on the individual market; degrade the quality of healthcare plans; and fundamentally restructure Medicaid -- resulting in deep cuts to coverage and services to a program that currently covers more than 70 million low-income and disabled Americans.
